Overview

Our client, an AM Law 100 law firm, is seeking an experienced associate to join its growing Environmental Law Department. The practice handles the environmental transactional aspects of complex M&A, private equity, financing, capital markets, bankruptcy, and real estate matters.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will work on environmental transactional matters implicated in deals and related matters. Responsibilities include diligence, negotiating, drafting, and advising on varied environmental issues in transactional matters. Experience with environmental regulatory compliance matters, brownfield clean-up and other remedial matters, and issues related to sustainability, climate change and renewable energy is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of law firm experience
• Must have experience performing diligence, negotiating, drafting and advising on varied environmental issues implicated in transactional matters
• Experience handling environmental regulatory compliance matters, brownfield clean-up and other remedial matters, and matters relating to sustainability, climate change and renewable energy is preferred
• J.D. from an ABA accredited law school with excellent academic credentials
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills
• Excellent client-relations skills and a strong work ethic
• Bar admission in New York is required
