About the Role

We have a client seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team in Charlottesville, VA. This hybrid role offers the unique opportunity to combine traditional financial analysis with significant accounting responsibilities. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting skills, sharp analytical abilities, and a collaborative mindset to support both finance and accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the monthly financial reporting process, including month-end close, preparation of documentation and submissions, and journal entry preparation/review.
• Support the Finance Supervisor in the preparation and distribution of the annual budget.
• Set up new vendors and maintain the vendor database.
• Maintain and record fixed asset additions, deletions, and depreciation.
• Prepare and review inter-division transaction support and journal entries, including expense allocations and project costs for all business units and international customers.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making across the business.
• Perform special projects as assigned.

Required:

• Bachelor's degree with major coursework in accounting or a related field.
• 3–4 years of progressive accounting responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and significant experience in their application.
• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to manage and analyze large datasets.
• Strong critical thinking, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and contribute positively within a high-performance team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex accounting tasks while delivering accurate financial analysis.
