Soliant is hiring two skilled Sign Language Interpreters to work in an elementary school setting, supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing. This role is vital in ensuring students have full access to classroom instruction, school activities, and peer interactions.
Youll work closely with educators, specialists, and families to create an inclusive environment where communication barriers are removed, and students can thrive both academically and socially.
Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa for students during classroom instruction, school events, and daily interactions.
Adapt communication styles based on student needs and educational settings.
Collaborate with teaching staff to understand lesson plans and goals in advance.
Maintain confidentiality and follow ethical standards as outlined in interpreting guidelines.
Provide consistent and reliable interpretation services throughout the school day.
Virginia Quality Assurance Screening (VQAS) Level III or higher
Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or higher
National Interpreter Certification (NIC)
